We discussed this a bit yesterday, but I missed the price tag on the necklace Duchess Kate wore to her pre-Olympic photo-op at the National Portrait Gallery. Sir Win Bischoff, who has died aged 82, was a German-born City financier celebrated for his inexhaustible enthusiasm for deal-making, who was successively chairman of Schroders, Citigroup in New York, and the troubled Lloyds Banking Group. Win Bischoff made his name running Schroders’ offshoot in Hong Kong before returning to take charge of the merchant bank’s corporate finance business in London in 1982.
