Zoë Tapper is an English actress best known for her roles in Richard Eyre’s award-winning film Stage Beauty in 2004, in Survivors, and in Demons.
For George Dillon in the West End, and Othello in Shakespeare’s Globe, Tapper has appeared on stage in Epitaph. Tapper played Gwendolyn in Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont in 2005, alongside Joan Plowright, and Diana Shaw in These Foolish Things in 2006, alongside Anjelica Huston, following her film debut in Stage Beauty.
Her television roles include Mary Collins in A Harlot’s Success for Channel 4, Jane in Samuel Pepys’ The Private Life of Oliver Parker, Gemma in Hex’s first series of the Sky One drama, and Jenny Maple in Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky miniseries of the BBC. She also played Hermia in ShakespeaRe-Told: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the same name play of the 2005 BBC adaptation/modernization of Shakespeare’s.
In 2008 Tapper, along with Max Beesley, Paterson Joseph, and Julie Graham, portrayed Sheila Steafel in the BBC television play The Curse of Steptoe and Anya Raczynski in the BBC remake of Survivors In the ITV adaptation of the novel Affinity, she also played Selina Dawes, opposite Anna Madeley as Margaret Prio. It was premiered at the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, and on ITV in the UK on 28 December 2008.
She appeared as blind vampire-turned-monster hunter Mina Harker in the ITV fantasy drama series Demons in 2009. She has played Effie Gray in the BBC Two Period Drama Desperate Romantics.
